Who We Are

The Brookfield Learning Center is a locally-owned tutoring center that focuses exclusively on the education needs of students in nearby communities.  We have been at the same location in Brookfield for more than ten years and have established strong connections between tutors, families, schools, teachers, and curricula. The continuity of our knowledge and service means that over the course of time, families have brought one student, then a sibling, and then another sibling – at whatever point in school the student needs help.

We are professional educators with special knowledge of tutoring.  At each scheduled lesson, the tutor is able to zero-in on each student’s particular needs and make appropriate adjustments to facilitate the student’s understanding and performance.

We are academic coaches for students who know they can count on us when they find themselves in need of help. We may see one student in 3rd grade, and in 9th grade, and in 11th grade for SAT prep.

Our tutors are based in the community and, knowing the families and the students, make contributions to an individual student’s learning needs with depth that cannot be surpassed or even matched by any other tutoring service.

Individual student needs are our top priority – we understand what each student needs to know at each grade level, and we identify learning strategies that will be effective for each student in each subject.

Our tutors know the local classroom setting and the testing materials used in Math, English, and Sciences.

What We Do

We offer programs that focus on Study Skills for each subject and at each grade level.

The Academic Writing program takes students from essential knowledge about grammar and sentence structure, to advanced knowledge about reading, interpreting, and writing about both non-fiction and

literary texts.

Math Commons and Specialty Math high school programs distill the essence of the necessary knowledge that students need for success in elementary and middle school math, and with Algebra I and II, pre-Calculus, Geometry, and Calculus – in Academic, Honors, and AP levels of instruction.

Precision Reading and Vocabulary is a program designed to be useful to students at all grade levels and in every subject area – History, Science, English, and electives.  The focus of Precision Reading is continuous progress in the reading expertise necessary at each grade level.

SAT and ACT Prep is an area at which we excel.  Small groups of students meet with subject-specific tutors who take each of them through the necessary strategies for each test.  Repeated practice and rehearsal tests are used to reinforce and refine the student’s performance.  Working groups are arranged approximately six-weeks before the test date.

Our Core Values
  • We believe that, as a locally small business, it is our responsibility to support the community.

  • Our Approach: Individualized Academic Coaching from Experienced Local Educators

  • Continuity: The Brookfield Learning center has been at the same location on Federal Road since 2003, for more than fourteen years, we have established strong connections between tutors, families, schools, teachers, and curricula.

  • Seasoned Educators: We are professional educators with special knowledge of tutoring. Our tutors are experienced, with an average tenure of seven years at the BLC. The continuity of their knowledge and service means that over the course of time, families have brought one student, then a sibling, and then another sibling - at whatever point in school the student needs help.

  • Individualized Support Plans: Individual student needs are our top priority - we understand what each student needs to know at each grade level, and we identify effective learning strategies for each student in each subject. At each scheduled lesson, the tutor is able to zero-in on each student's particular needs and make appropriate adjustments to facilitate the student's understanding and performance.

  • Community: Our tutors are based in the community and, knowing the families and the students, make contributions to an individual student's learning needs with depth that cannot be duplicated by large chain learning centers.

    •  Students who know they can count on us for academic coaching when they find themselves in need of help. We may see one student in 3rd grade, another in 9th grade, and another  in 11th grade for SAT prep.

    • From working with school PTSO's to making the Center available for local fundraising events, we are proud to be part of the greater Brookfield community.
